Time Out is a playful exploration of color, rhythm, and form, inspired by my own modified version of Sherilyn Woods' floating squares score. The quilt examines the relationship between closely related hues and organically shaped squares set within a neutral background, creating a dynamic sense of movement. This design draws on the improvisational nature of jazz, with a nod to Dave Brubeck’s iconic piece, Time Out, reflecting the freedom and spontaneity in both music and quilting. The result is a quilt that embraces rhythm, color, and the fun of creative expression.
