Night Garden explores the cyclical nature of life, death, and renewal through the contrast of light and dark, as well as natural shapes and colors. The quilt, born from a deeply personal experience of loss, became a means of healing. It reflects the emotional range of grief and growth, using textures and forms to evoke the quiet strength found in life's inevitable transitions. Through this piece, I aim to create space for both sorrow and hope, capturing the beauty that can emerge from times of profound change.
I used drunkard’s path shapes cut freehand with my rotary cutter with my hand dyed fabric to improvise the design.
Juried into QuiltCon 2023; Pacific International Quilt Festival, 2023; QUILT SF 2025, San Francisco Quilters Guild where it was awarded a First Place ribbon.
