Radiant is an improvisational quilt made from leftover blocks and bits of fabric collected over the years. I added some vintage "upcycled" kimono scraps and silks, along with hand stitching using threads from my stash. The quilt is a playful mix of colors and shapes, created with whatever materials were available. The silk adds a subtle sheen, and the large stitch quilting gives the piece textural interest.

I teach a workshop on creating improv abstract quilts like Radiant, where participants explore working with leftover fabrics, and freeform design. This class encourages creativity, spontaneity, and play, providing the tools to make quilts that reflect personal style and embrace the unexpected.
