Welcome, my name is Claudia Shearer and I’m an artist and educator focused on creating abstract and modern quilts using improvisation, hand dyed fabrics and the nuanced use of color. Every quilt is crafted entirely by hand, typically taking a span of months to create from start to finish.

I’m a Bay Area native who has made San Francisco my home for over 30 years. I have been quilting for 20 of those years.

I offer workshops and lectures focused on modern and improvisational quilting techniques, giving students the tools to create expressive quilts unique to the maker.
